Film Review- Transporter Refuelled

Flurry Road
Film: Transporter Refuelled
Cast: Ed Skrein, Lona Chabanol
Directed by: Camille Delamarre
Duration:  1 hr 36 mins
Rating:  * *

Cashing on the box office success of Transporter, Transporter Refuelled is an attempt in vain to entertain the audience with car chases and action. If anything, this is one long commercial for the car maker Audi -the S8 model to be more precise. No matter how many chases it is involved in, it will still come out without a scratch. Unless you decide to blow it up yourself.  Car aficionados will love the action, movie lovers can snooze through it.

Jason Statham is no longer around and he has been replaced by the serviceable Ed Skrein as Frank Martin. As the courier, his mantra is also the same – never open the package.
The package this time consists of three bevy beauties led by Anna (Lona Chabanol) all wearing a blonde wig, they are prostitutes with a grand plan of getting even with their employer who has his fingers in many pies.

The stage is set for pointless chases and action along the French Riviera. The basic outline of the story is a bit like Mad Max Fury Road but the similarities instantly end there. Frank’s dad is also on the scene and like Sean Connery in Indiana Jones, he refers to his son as Junior.

As long as there is chases and action (which is very average by the way), it is fine but the moment they get into explanations and characterization, it gets tedious.  Given the evidence, not quite sure what director Camille Delamarre’s talents are.

Even Transporter fans, if any are left, should give this one a second thought.
